Would like to Welcome Nikki to the Day centre she has been appointed as Kitchen Assistant, please introduce yourselves and make her feel welcome. Sadly we have said goodbye to Emma and wish her well on her new venture.

Salads will be starting on Tuesday 7th May so soup will be removed from the menu for the summer; we still have jacket potatoes and omelettes as alternatives, and don’t forget we have Bacon Rolls for sale for £1 between 9am-11am. If you require us to make a birthday cake for you the kitchen will need a weeks’ notice.

We will NOT be storing any items in the fridge or freezer that have been purchased from the shops as we have had a number of issues that have arisen so please be mindful of this when purchasing your goods.

We have our entertainment programme for July,  Please do participate in our entertainment and activities afternoons, it takes a lot of time and effort to organise, plus it is a means of social interaction for everyone, and as they say ‘the more the merrier’.

We have also introduced a craft & art table in the lounge, please spend some time during the day to test your skills ask Louise or Helen for help to pass the morning by.

On Wednesday 10th July we have Charles here doing Chair Yoga at 1.30pm.

On Friday 12th July we have an outing on the Minibus to the ferry boat inn at Hayling Island please see separate poster for details, the cost will be £15 and you will be required to purchase your own lunch.

On Tuesday 16th July we have an outing to Littlehampton on the Minibus please see separate poster for details, the cost will be £15 and you will be required to purchase your own lunch.

On Wednesday 17th July we have sassi gifts visiting so come and get your gifts for someone special.

On Thursday 25th July we have our new reflexology class please see posters around the centre for details.

On 31st July it is the three churches outing to Worthing; you need to purchase your tickets from Huckleberry Bistro just around the corner from us.

On Thursday 13th 10.30am-12pm  it is Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake day and someone is having a cake sale here, please come and support it and if you have a spare few moments could you bake a cake for it.

On Thursday 13th June 1pm-3pm we have a let’s get steady presentation here, it is a very good workshop to attend, there will be refreshments please see Annette or Wendy to book on.

On Wednesday 19th we have Belinda here selling jewellery 10am-12pm come and get yourself something nice or purchase a gift for someone special.

 

We have our summer fete here on Saturday 30th June 10am-2pm; we will be running a free minibus, we have lots of stalls, please see separate poster for donations we would like which will be greatly appreciated.                                                                      Annette

April 23rd is St George’s day so we will have a special menu and we will be having an Easter Special.

On 26th April it is the Day Centres 31st Birthday so we will be having free Tea and Cake in the Afternoon.

On Tuesday 19th March we have our Rock and Roll Themed day, please see separate poster please feel free to come dressed up and we will be having entertainment.

On Wednesday 20th we have Belinda the Jewellery lady so come and treat yourself, also we have an invite from Eastlake to their Wellbeing Day, includes Ploughman’s Lunch, please see Annette or Wendy for details.

On Thursday 28th March we have our outing to Longacre garden centre if you haven’t booked on please see Annette or Wendy.

On Saturday 30th March we are having a collection 10am-12pm down at Godalming Waitrose, please come down to support us and if you can spare some time to help.

Christmas is upon us and a busy month for all of us!

Christmas Lunches week will be week beginning Monday 10th December- 14th December, please make sure you book for your free lunch with Annette and Wendy. We will have entertainment in the lounge every afternoon and Father Christmas will be visiting every day!!

We will have a special menu that day.  On Wednesday 14th November we have Belinda here selling her lovely Jewellery 10am-12pm.  On Thursday 15th November we have an outing to the pub (The Parrott Inn Shalford) please see separate poster for details.

We have our Christmas Fair on Saturday 17th November which is a fantastic Fundraiser for the Centre, please come and support this event we have a Plant stall,childrens and Adults tombola,jewellery stall,Christmas decorations,Christmas cards/wrapping paper/diaries/calenders etc and Bacon Butties on the servery. We will run a free minibus that day so please book your place on it.

NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2018

Halloween Month can’t believe it has arrived so quickly and sadly the cold weather is following.

We welcome Louise our new care assistant to the team and some new users to the centre, so please introduce yourselves and say hello to welcome them in, when new users start to the centre it can be overwhelming for them it doesn’t take a moment just to say hello.

We also have a nice range of homemade cakes, biscuits, plus sweets and chocolate treats. Please Note only Day Centre Drinks can be consumed here, we cannot have people bringing in their own drinks. If there is a drink (non-alcoholic) that you would like to see on the servery please let us know, please do not bring in drinks and ask us to keep behind the Servery, we do have a nice range of cold drinks, hot drinks (Tea, Coffee, Cappuchinos,Horlicks, Bovril and cartons of juice and water. PLEASE NOTE THE SERVERY WILL BE CLOSED 12-1PM EVERY DAY. If you want to order Tea and Cake for your birthday please can you give Deborah & Emma 2 weeks’ notice? We will now NOT be storing any items in the fridge or freezer that have been purchased from the shops as we have had a number of issues that have arisen so please be mindful of this when purchasing your goods.

We are now selling a variety of items on our ‘Sales Trolley’, wrapping paper, sellotape, bingo dabbers, age birthday cards, tissues, deodorants, combs etc., please let us know if you would like to be able to purchase any other items from here and we will do our best to provide them at a very reasonable price.

We have our entertainment programme, Card Bingo, Carpet Bowls, Quizzes and much much more.

On Tuesday 16th October we have an outing to the Drummond in Albury (Hughie’s Pub) if you would like to go please come and put your name down in the office.

On Wednesday 17th October we have Sharon from mobile fashions here 10am-12pm, come and grab yourself a bargain.

Also on Wednesday 17th October we have the sight for surrey sensory bus at 10am.

 

On Wednesday 24th October we have a shopping trip to the Range at Chichester if you would like to go please come in and book in the office.

On Friday 26th October we have our Quiz Night, Fish and Chips,Raffle,Quiz Master it is a great fun evening starting at 7.30pm and raises a lot of money for the centre to enable us to put on trips for you all.

On Wednesday 31st October we will be doing a Halloween themed lunch with games and some sweet treats involved to, it will be a £5 special so will need to be booked and paid for in the office.

We are busy planning our Christmas Fair, which is on 17th November and would like any donations of the following: Raffle & Tombola Prizes, good as new gifts, sweets, drinks,

(Unfortunately we are unable to accept tins of food i.e. soup, vegetables, beans etc.)
