Volunteers

Our volunteers are very important to the success of the Centre.  In fact we could not do what we do without the volunteers who:

  • help with the day to day running of the Centre – on our minibus as escorts; on the servery and in the kitchen, helping to serve refreshments and washing up; in the garden digging, weeding and planting. For all these roles we need volunteers who are able to help either on a regular basis or occasionally. We also need Volunteers to deliver Community meals, we pay mileage and it is such a rewarding job.
  • fundraise  – while we receive grants and donations from Waverley Borough Council, local organisations and individuals, we need to raise additional funds to ensure that we can provide our minibus service, entertainment and outings.
  • be a member of our Executive Committee – the Executive Committee has overall responsibility for the Centre and which meets once a month to discuss policy and to plan ahead.

If you are interested in helping us in any of these areas, we would like to hear from you as we always need more volunteers. The main qualifications are an interest in people, and enthusiasm. In return we can offer you the opportunity to work with a lovely group of people who quickly become your friends.
