Now the warmer weather is here salads are now on the menu, if you know you are going to be late in please can you ensure if you want a salad can you make sure you call in to book it.  Please ensure you are drinking plenty of water in this hot weather. We will still be offering alternative’s including, omelettes, & jacket potatoes.  Please chat with Jane or Emma if there is anything you are unable to eat and they will do their best to find an alternative for you. Please make sure you order the correct meal when you arrive as Jane and Emma will be unable to change this when they are serving lunch. We have our fantastic entertainment programme Mill Cottage farm Animals coming, horse Racing afternoon, Den & Don, Sight for Surrey Bus, Coop talk (please see separate poster),Patrick Webber  and much much more. Please be aware that the Entertainment can change so please listen for updates at morning bingo.

The Day Centre Summer Garden Party will be taking place on Tuesday 8th August.  Come and join us for a day of fun & games with a picnic lunch, strawberries & ice cream plus excellent musical entertainment followed by afternoon tea and cake.  We are offering this day free to our regular visitors and only £3.00 to general public, please get your tickets from the office. (usual minibus fare applies) If wet will be held indoors.

 

On Monday 14th August Sharon the Mobile Clothes shop will be visiting so come and grab yourself a bargain.

Please note we will be closed on Monday 28th August due to Bank Holiday so afternoon Bingo will be on Tuesday 29th August.

Thank you to all the staff and Volunteers that helped at the Summer Fete we raised the fantastic amount of £1805.48.

The Day Centre AGM will be held at 2pm on Thursday 20th

July followed by tea and cakes for all those attending the AGM.

Penny Rivers who arranges Songs of Praise at the Day Centre has offered to take Holy

Communion here, so if anyone would like to take Holy Communion in the Day Centre please speak to Annette or Wendy who will arrange with Penny.

Farncombe day centres Summer Fete and and Boot sale will take place on 24th June 12-3pm at canon Bowring Recreation ground, lower manor Road,Farncombe please come down and support us and raise money for the centre.

On 18th May we will be having a lady called Emilie coming in to do manicures and Pedicures 10am-1pm if it is really popular then we will be having it on a weekly basis every Thursday, she will be operating in the medical room but you will need to book in the office with Annette and Wendy please see price lists around the centre.

 

We are introducing a change to the afternoon our Volunteer will be serving Tea from 12.45pm and entertainment will start at 1.30pm and the servery will stay open so if you wish to purchase refreshments after you will be able.

We are busy planning our Summer Fete, which will take place on Saturday 24th June at The Canon Bowring Recreation Ground, Farncombe from 12.00 – 3.00pm.  If anyone would like to make any donations towards our Raffle, Tombola or good as new gifts, we would greatly appreciate them.

We are introducing a change to the afternoon our afternoon Volunteer will be serving Tea from 12.45pm and entertainment will start at 1.30pm and the servery will stay open so if you wish to purchase refreshments after you will be able to. PLEASE NOTE we will be calling morning bingo at 11.30am and announcements after so all users hear. There is also going to be a small increase in Bingo tickets from the 3rd April due to suppliers increase in prices, bingo tickets will be 30p a ticket and Bingo Books will be 60p a book.

 

Please note we are closed 14th April (Good Friday) and 17th April (Easter Monday).

The kitchen refurbishment is now coming to an end thank you so much to everyone for your patience. We will back to normal on 7th March please note we will be closed on Monday 6th March so we can clean the centre. We will be having an official kitchen opening on Friday 17th March please come along 1.30-2.30pm refreshments will be provided and the kitchen will be opened by the Mayor. We have some exciting events happening this month Musical Entertainment from Den and Don, Chris Munroe, David Caesar and Tracey.  It takes a large amount of work for us to organise entertainment and we will be coming around asking what entertainment you would like as it takes a large amount of money out of our budget and it seems that a majority of you do not wish to join in or partake in activities which is a waste, so we would appreciate it if everyone stays in the lounge for the duration of the entertainment and the servery will not open until 2-2.15pm.

 

We have been successful as one of the Co-operative charities so please support us by buying lots of goods, you need to register your Co-Op card online or call 08000234708 and requesting your 1% of your shopping goes to Age Concern Farncombe.

 

I would like to Thank Waverley Borough Council and Santander for providing Volunteers to help serve Christmas Lunches it was a great help to our Volunteers to make it all run smoothly.

I would like to thank Little lanes Nursery School and Rocking Horse Nursery for all the harvest gifts they delivered.
