Newsletter October 2016

Can’t believe we are in October already the start of the cold weather and dark evenings and HALLOWEEN.

So, with that in mind we have now stopped doing salads and homemade soup will be coming back on the winter menu. Don’t forget we also offer alternative’s including, omelettes, & jacket potatoes. Please chat with Jane or Emma if there is anything you are unable to eat and they will do their best to find an alternative for you. We also have a nice range of homemade cakes, biscuits, plus sweets and chocolate treats. Please Note only Day Centre Drinks can be consumed here, we cannot have people bringing in their own drinks. If there is a drink (non-alcoholic) that you would like to see on the servery please let us know, we do have a nice range of cold drinks cartons of juice and water, and new to the drinks we will now be serving cup a soups please see the sign on servery. We are also doing filled rolls or sandwiches, scones with Clotted cream and Jam and cheese and biscuits to TAKEAWAY . They will need to be ordered the day before you require them, and the Kitchen staff will freshly prepare them ready for you to take home the following day.

We will now NOT be storing any items in the fridge or freezer that have been purchased from the shops as we have had a number of issues that have arisen so please be mindful of this when purchasing your goods.

We are now selling a variety of items on our ‘Sales Trolley’, wrapping paper, sellotape, bingo dabbers, age birthday cards, tissues etc., please let us know if you would like to be able to purchase any other items from here and we will do our best to provide them at a very reasonable price.

We have some exciting events happening this month: we have Mobile Clothes Shop visiting 3rd October, National Apple betty day 5th October, Orange October Lunch on 13th October, National Dessert Day 14th October, National Pasta day 17th October, National Chocolate Cupcake day 18th October, National greasy Food Day 25th October, National Chocolate day 28th October and we have a £5 Halloween special lunch on 31st October so keep a look out for changes in menus. We have our fantastic Entertainment programme David Caesar, Seated Exercise, Tracey, Songs of praise, Louise & Otis and much much more. It takes a large amount of work for us to organise entertainment and we will be coming around asking what entertainment you would like as it takes a large amount of money out of our budget and it seems that a majority of you do not wish to join in or partake in activities which is a waste, so we would appreciate it if everyone stays in the lounge for the duration of the entertainment and the servery will not open until 2-2.15pm.

We have been successful as one of the Co-operative charities so please support us by buying lots of goods and requesting it to go to Farncombe Day Centre it will be greatly appreciated.

On Friday 14th October we have our Quiz night here at the Day centre at 7.30pm, teams of 6-8,£10 per person with a fish and chip supper please come and support us and have a fun evening.

I would like to thank Little lanes Nursery School and Rocking Horse Nursery for all the harvest gifts they delivered.

Annette & Wendy
